About

The Eye-Bank is a private, not-for-profit organization, founded in 1944 as the world’s first eye bank to collect, process and distribute donor eye tissue for sight saving cornea transplants, medical education and research into cures for other eye diseases. Annually, 1,300 people have their sight restored through tissue provided by The Eye-Bank. We are committed to increasing eye, tissue and organ donations through public and professional education, highlighting the importance and benefits of donation.

The Eye-Bank serves the five boroughs of New York City, Long Island, and the Lower Hudson Valley.
